Living purposefully is all-round powerhouse Petra Laranjo. Together with her organisation, Just One Thing 365 (JOT365), she has made ‘doing good’ her life philosophy.

The year 2019 has been one to remember but the work doesn’t stop there. This resident of Sundowner in Randburg makes it her mission to do just one thing each day.

“Our aim is to inspire and support a more compassionate way of living. We exist because so many people want to help but don’t know how or where to start.

“If you do #justonething365 days a year, no matter how seemingly small, to uplift the life of another – human, animal or our planet – you will directly impact the lives of 14 610 beings in just 40 years…or at least 366 by this time next year. It’s that easy!”

Trained in fashion design and an image specialist, she realised that through her craft she could help people. “My love of fashion had more to do with helping people boost their confidence by changing their internal image and helping them communicate their internal worth through a tool like personal branding and less about the actual clothing.”

She will be ending off the year on a high with her organisation JOT 365. Animal lovers can join in and donate goodies to the Balls an’ All pet sterilisation organisation, their Christmas wish list initiative and support non-profit organisations for abused women.

As a thought leader, Laranjo’s journey has taught her many things. “It’s taught me resilience and to authentically live my purpose, secure and confident in my self-worth and values.”

By realising her full purpose and potential to help humanity and animals alike, Laranjo hopes to inspire more people to just do good. Her book, Living on Purpose – The key to change your life and impact others, has already done just that.

“I also hope to have my own lifestyle show, interviewing extraordinary people who have changed their lives to impact others by living on purpose.

“My hope is that their stories will resonate with you and inspire you to step up into your potential for impact.” Always keeping it stylish, her favourite item in her wardrobe right now is a jade bamboo gemstone pendant which was a gift from her husband.
